I’m not interested in directing a scene or manufacturing a feeling. I’m interested in what's actually in the room. The real shape of a family, the real weight of a day, the real way two people look at each other when they're not thinking about the camera. My job is to stay close to the ground, close to what's real, and close to the people who showed up because they love each other and wanted someone to remember it properly.
